Feeding your toddler

By Cecilia Koh

The information provided below is a general guide and is not meant to replace your doctor's advice. If you have any problems or questions, please refer to your doctor.

In the article on weaning your baby I suggested that from 10 months onwards, you could start offering other types of food to your baby but they must be cut up finely so that baby will not choke. By the time your baby is 1 year old he should be taking a variety of food so it would be easy to progress to eating adult food.

I'm wondering how old before they learn how to feed themselves with utensils. How old are Alicia and Guo Yi in the pictures here?

Hi Doris
Alicia and Guo Yi were one and a half years old when the photos were taken.

Can I give my 19 month old toddler baby yoghurt? But then it is best served cold as heat will destroy the good bacteria.

Hi Pat
It is ok to give your 19 month old toddler cold baby yoghurt. It helps to keep the digestive tract healthy.
