Pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises for women
By Cecilia Koh
The information provided below is a general guide and is not meant to replace your doctor's advice. If you have any problems or questions, please refer to your doctor.
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles and ligaments whose function is to support the pelvic organs, namely the uterus, bladder and rectum. If, through childbearing, the pelvic floor is weakened, coughing, sneezing, laughing and lifting heavy objects will cause urine to dribble from the bladder. This condition is called stress incontinence and can be very embarrassing but unfortunately, many women are ashamed to talk about it and just wait for it to go away.ANONYMOUS COMMENTING DISABLED
